These kinds of woods are excellent at resistant dents and physical force, and can therefore withstand abuse better than other kinds of woods can. This is because hardwoods have a higher density than most softwoods do. Hickory in particular is a very common choice used for doors for this very reason. However, hardwoods are also the more expensive as well, Softwoods Softwoods have a lesser density than hardwoods do, but they are also much cheaper and can be very attractive looking as well. Examples of softwoods include spruce or fir, both of which are a common choice in American shops and garages. Just because softwood lacks the complete density of hardwoods does not at all mean that it is not a suitable choice or not durable. There’s a reason why softwoods are very common across America. Walnut Walnut is one of the most common wood choices for a cabinet because it is very durable and attractive looking, and for this reason it really deserves its own section. Hardwoods are available in many different colors and can either look more brown or more red depending on the shade that you choose to go with. Plywood Finally, you can go with plywood as well. Plywood is basically timber that has been laminated, glued, and then engineered with a wooden veneer. Even though it may not be the most attractive option, it’s also not bad and is certainly the cheapest. If you are on a budget, this is the way to go. |
